Background Design
A selection of layouts from Season 1 of Disney’s DuckTales.
The Background Design on DuckTales is heavily inspired by Carl Barks’ comics and Art Director Sean Jimenez’s hand, with the linework that mimics pen & ink and the use of black shadows and accent marks. The varied line weight, slightly caricatured objects, and fun accents all add character & specific detail to the stories told.
Fonts
Hand drawn font for the series’ credits. The font was based on the Carl Barks comics’ text.
Hand drawn fonts for Louie and Dewey’s handwriting, published in the book “DuckTales: Solving Mysteries and Rewriting History!” by Rob Renzetti, published 2018.
